6 Ways to Get Fit in 6 Weeks or Less

By

Are you looking to get fit? Looking to get your body back?

Whether you are trying to stay fit in lockdown or wanting to get your summer body ready, we’ve got some top tips to help you get fit in 6 weeks or less.

For nearly 10 years True Grit obstacle challenges have been giving everyday Australians the purpose and passion to transform their bodies. We believe getting and staying fit should be a cornerstone of every Australian’s lives. But we also believe that getting fit should be fun, which is why we run our obstacle challenges across Australia.

Our military inspired obstacle challenges have been designed based on over 35 combined years of Australian special forces experience so when it comes to getting fit and staying that way we know what we’re talking about. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Don’t know where to start? Don’t worry, we got you covered in our five ways to get fit in, that’s right, 6 weeks! While these tips will help you get fit in 6 weeks if you create a strong plan and stick to it, we believe in fitness for life and strongly suggest you incorporate these strategies into your everyday life.

Eat healthy

Healthy food is the fuel your body needs to reach its full potential. Many would argue that eating healthy is the most important component to getting fit. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian or full blown protein addict, find what works for you but make sure you check your macros and are getting enough healthy energy into you body to support intense workouts.

Be prepared

Do you have all the equipment you need to be successful? Is your fridge stocked with all the foods you need to eat a healthy and energy packed diet? Have you set up alternative options for exercise should the weather change? Being prepared and having a clear plan of action will help set you up for success. We suggest creating a weekly schedule of meals, daily exercise as well as a results tracking sheet. Be sure to check out our free record sheet template by getting a week’s worth of workouts below.

Get a buddy

Fitness is more fun with a friend. When you have fun, you are more likely to stick to your plan and truly enjoy it. One of the things people love most about doing our obstacle challenges across Australia is the camaraderie and friendship built along the way as racers work together to overcome obstacles.

Set Goals

What do you want to achieve? Set goals for yourself both physically and mentally. Try new types of exercise and set realistic but challenging targets to aim for. This will help you push your muscles and elevate your fitness to a whole new level. Setting goals sets the groundwork for success. Whether it’s increasing your running pace or doing more pull ups, pick where you want to focus and set your targets.

Be consistent

“Consistent action creates consistent results,’’ Christine Kane. The key to making progress on any fitness program is to be consistent. Once you’ve set your plan for your healthy eating and daily exercise keep it up. You don’t need to be perfect, just show up every day and do your very best. Even if you have a few slip ups, keep going and do a make up session.

Scale up

In order to achieve maximum results you need to put your body to the test in more ways than one. Obstacle course training is an amazing way to push your body’s limits while having heaps of fun. Some of the fantastic things you can incorporate into your training program include all the things you would imagine at a big kids playground: running, jumping, climbing, crawling and more. In our Complete Obstacle Conditioning program we have three levels of
