THE DETAILS

WHY DID THE RUN FOR FREE PROGRAM FINISH?

As with all specials, all good things must come to an end. The Run for Free program has been running for the past 10+ years and unfortunately it isn’t viable for us to keep the special going forever. The qualifying time for reaching gold medal status and the Run for Free program ended on 31/12/2022. Please note, all existing Gold Medallists will have their Run for Free benefits honoured – you will receive a code for your Gold Medallist wave each year.

WILL THE MEDAL SYSTEM BE CONTINUING?

Yes! 3x Individual True Grit Events (10km) will earn you a Bronze medal, 5x Individual True Grit Events (10km) will earn you Silver and 7x Individual True Grit Events (10km) will earn you a Gold medal.

DO ALL EVENTS COUNT TO MEDALS?

Half events, Urban, Night Attack, Kids Course and discounted entry events (including the “Run a second lap for $50 tickets”) don’t count towards your True Grit medal tally.

WHAT IF I HAVE A MEDAL ALREADY?

If you are already the rightful recipient of a True Grit Bronze, Silver or Gold medal, our record will reflect this and you will be presented with your medal at the Finish Line of your next True Grit event.

DO YOU KEEP RECORDS OF MY PROGRESS?

We have all the records of our obstacle racers on file and simply by registering for your next event with the same email address will update our records to the medal you are eligible for. Be sure to use the same email address each year when registering.

DO I NEED ANYTHING ON THE DAY?

When you arrive and check-in at the Registrations Tent, you will be allocated 2 wristbands if you are due to receive a medal after completion of that event.

WHEN DO I GET MY MEDAL?

All medals are presented at the True Grit Finish Line. Unfortunately no medals will be posted out, so you will need to attend an event to get your medal at the Finish Line.

WHAT IF I RUN IN A DIFFERENT STATE?

Every Individual True Grit Event (10km) you run contributes to your tally, so you can run a True Grit event in any state and there is no time limit to run the events in. The qualifying period for the Run for Free program ends on 31/12/22. If you have not completed 7 events by this date, you will no longer receive free entry once you reach Gold status. The Run for Free program will continue to be honoured for all current Gold Medallists.
