As the Team Captain, register yourself first and create the Team Name in the system (you will see the option to “Create a Team” when you sign up). Once you have registered, share your start time and team name with your team members. They can then register themselves and select this team name when they register.
Absolutely – we can issue an invoice for teams of 10 team members or more. Lots of gym and office teams choose to register and pay for their group in one go this way. This avoids the online booking fee, too. If you’d like to take up this option, please email us on support@truegrit.com.au with the number of people you’d like to pay for, your preferred start time and who to make the invoice out to. We also offer a special group discount for teams of 10 or more.
We have a great Groups offer in place for teams of 10 or more. Please email us on support@truegrit.com.au to find out more.
Your team can be as big as you want. We recommend a minimum of 2 people per team. This is to ensure that you have the extra help that may be needed to complete some obstacles.
If your team got in before you and the time slot is now sold out, please send an email to support@truegrit.com.au and our team will grant you access to the same wave time!
You can absolutely run the event solo. AND if you’re looking for some like-minded solo-ists then keep an eye out for the “Black Dog Wave” when registering. It is at 9:20am and 10:20am.
All race participants need to be a minimum of 16 years of age for the Full Grit course and a minimum of 12 years of age for the Half Grit course. Under 18’s need a parent or guardian to sign an Under 18 Indemnity waiver. This can be signed by the parent or guardian on arrival to the event.
We recommend long pants, shorts, or leggings and long socks to make your run comfortable and provide protection. Running shoes are the recommended footwear for the course. Keep clothing light as you are guaranteed to warm up during the course. Essential items to bring along are a plastic bag (for wet clothes), a towel, a water bottle, a gold coin donation (if you wish to access the Bag Drop) and cash for Parking ($10 per car). Go Pro’s or similar devices may be worn, however we take no responsibility if they are lost during the course. We advise you to secure your devices during water or mud obstacles.
True Grit events are designed to test both physical and mental grit. You will need some endurance to complete the course. There are two training programs (Intermediate/Advanced) provided under the “True Grit Training” section on this website. Alternatively, you may want to walk the course and only attempt some obstacles. True Grit encourages participants of all fitness levels.
You should be confident to at least swim 20 metres. Safety staff will be at all water locations to assist you if required. If you are not a confident swimmer you can bypass the obstacle.
Yes. The course map is finalised the week of the event and will be sent to all participants a few days prior. The course map will also be posted on all True Grit socials prior to event weekend.
Each True Grit event page has a ‘DIRECTIONS’ link which will give you directions to the event venue.
Entry to the event will be via the car park. The car park will open from 7.00am on each event day.
You should arrive approximately 1 hour prior to your start time to ensure you have picked up your wrist band and that you are warmed up properly prior to the start. The car park will open from 7.00am on each event day.
Our Elite wave at 8:30am is the only timed waved. The top 10 Male and Female Elites are timed.
True Grit events will not be cancelled due to weather conditions. We use the Army motto, “If it ain’t raining, it ain’t training!”.
Water will be available periodically during the course. Please ensure you bring a drink bottle for refills after you run. First aid qualified personnel and equipment will be positioned along the course, as well as a doctor available at the medical area near the finish line.
Your team will have to start at your scheduled start time. We will simply place them in a following wave.
All participants will have the opportunity to hose/wash down after the event. Remember, there are water and mud obstacles, so bring a towel, a plastic bag, and a change of clothes.
A male and female changing tent will be provided.
You can simply bypass any obstacle that you’re not comfortable with. We encourage all participants to at least attempt all obstacles.
There will be a Bag Drop tent for you to use at the event. Please be advised that using our Bag Drop tent requires a Gold Coin donation. We recommend leaving your valuables in your car or with any spectators that may accompany you.
It should take the average person approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours to complete.
If you’re driving to the event, we have parking available for $10 per vehicle. Water and food will be freely available and drink driving will be strictly enforced by relevant State Authorities.
