True Grit announces charity partnership with the Black Dog Institute

By

True Grit are so excited to announce their new charity partnership with the Black Dog Institute.

True Grit have set a goal to fundraise $100,000 for the mental health charity over the next three years.

True Grit courses are all about overcoming obstacles – both physical and mental. Once you’ve completed a Grit Course, there’s nothing you can’t conquer – though some hurdles are harder than others.

Mental health issues are on the rise, magnified since the onset of the global pandemic. In Australia alone, more than three quarters of people claim their mental health has worsened since the outbreak of COVID-19, according to a study by the Black Dog Institute. Roughly 60% of these people won’t seek help.

The link between physical exercise and mental health is proven. True Grit are therefore immensely proud in being able to support and encourage our participant’s physical and mental wellbeing – and now hope to positively impact even more Australians via this partnership.

Participants will be able to easily donate to the Black Dog Institute when they register, as well as the option to set up their own fundraising page to allow friends and family to sponsor them.

PLUS – what about participants who are wanting to tackle the True Grit course in 2022 but don’t have anyone to join them? Whilst the course can definitely be conquered solo, participants now also have the option to find like-minded solo-ists during the “Black Dog Waves” at all future True Grit events. The Black Dog Waves will provide the opportunity for any solo Gritters to team up with other solo participants to tackle the course together.

True Grit hope to continue to empower individuals to overcome mental and physical adversity through completing their obstacle courses whilst raising funds and awareness for an important charity like the Black Dog Institute.

Give them a like/follow on Facebook here and Instagram here and check out some of the great work the Black Dog Institute do.

Mud, mates and mental health – it’s a big YES from us.
