True Grit NSW 2025: The Highlights

By

The Hawkesbury heats up for True Grit 2025

The True Grit team endured 40 degree days to build a newly designed course for the first event of 2025.  The full course was close to 11km and included 36 obstacles for the thousands that visited Dargle Farm on the 1st & 2nd of March.

The event was bolstered by some heroic performances, including a partially blind runner, a 75 year old member of Team Veteran (Invictus Australia), and one Gritter making his 17th True Grit appearance.

17 True Grit runs and counting!

It was awesome to also see teams from our charity partners Black Dog Institute and Invictus Australia attend the event, run and raise awareness of the amazing work that both organisations do.  Along with these teams, it was great to see so many teams from organisations, sporting teams and gyms rally together to get one another through the tough course.  Our largest team on course was F45 Peakhurst, who arrived in their team bus and kept one another motivated from the start line, all the way to the icy cold Balter beer at the finish line!

Participants travelled from all around Australia to attend, with many also volunteering to help the True Grit Team as obstacle marshals.

The True Grit team would like to sincerely thank our wonderful volunteers.  Our volunteers really make the event the massive success it is.  Without a group of dedicated Gritters coming to assist it simply wouldn’t be possible to put our events on.

Epic Performances in the Elite Races

The newly formulated and elongated track was always going to be a challenge, but the fact that our Elite athletes were able to run the course in blistering times and in blistering heat is a testament to their fitness, stamina and endurance.

Hawkesbury an amazing venue

True Grit events are all about showcasing Australia’s natural beauty, and putting on an event  that is the perfect mix of physical and mental challenge delivered through fun, fitness and friends to give racers of all ages and fitness levels a sense of achievement and accomplishment.

Huge Thanks to Our Partners

True Grit wouldn’t be possible without the support of some amazing partners and locals who helped bring it all together:

  • Staminade, UNDO THIS Mess, Balter, and LSKD

We were also tremendously happy to have our friends at True Protein join us in the Hawkesbury for the weekend.  It was excellent for our Gritters to learn all about their natural protein supplements available.

True Protein were an amazing team to have at True Grit NSW

2025 is set to be another record breaking year, with SA and QLD events already live.
